Frenkie de Jong's agent is flying into Barcelona for emergency negotiations over a move to Manchester United.
Frenkie de Jong's agent is likely to travel to Spain in the next 48 hours to discuss the midfielder's future at the club, amid interest from Manchester United.
Erik ten Hag, who worked with the Dutch international until his £73 million move to Barcelona from Ajax in 2019, sees him as a top goal.
De Jong prefers to stay at Camp Nou, but the club is in dire financial straits and must sell before signing targets such as Angel di Maria or Robert Lewandowski.
They are thus willing to sell de Jong, and Mundo Deportivo reports that the Dutchman's agent is flying into Barcelona to meet with the club.
Barcelona is anticipated to inform Ali Dursun that De Jong is available for transfer and that a sum of roughly £70 million is requested.
De Jong has stated unequivocally that Barcelona is his "dream" club and that he wishes to remain at Camp Nou.
He is, however, willing to go if it becomes evident that he will not be given a more prominent part in Xavi's midfield.
Following the departures of Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba, Ten Hag has identified midfield as a priority area to reinforce.
This leaves United short in the middle of the park, and Andreas Pereira, who was loaned out to Flamengo, could be given a chance to shine.
