Greater Manchester Police confirmed this morning that Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood has been released on bail.
The 20-year-old was reportedly detained in recent days following alarming charges made against him by his former partner Harriet Robson.
Greenwood has been an important player for the Red Devils in recent years, but he is currently barred from playing or training with the club owing to the continuing dispute.
There were reports of additional charges being leveled against Greenwood yesterday, but it appears that the authorities are now lessening their investigation of the player for the time being...
It remains to be seen what else may come of this, but whatever happens next, it appears unlikely that we'll see Greenwood in a Manchester United shirt again anytime soon.
The England international has 35 goals in 129 appearances for United in all competitions since making his debut in the 2018/19 season after progressing through the club's youth.
Greenwood has had one senior England cap after falling out of favor due to a disciplinary issue in 2020.
