Paul Pogba, the Manchester United midfielder, has been linked with a surprise move to the Etihad Stadium.
Paul Pogba of Manchester United has already hinted at two demands he would make of Pep Guardiola if he were to move to the Etihad Stadium this summer. Manchester City are expected to make a move for the France international when his contract at Old Trafford expires.
Pogba will leave United for the second time, a decade after joining Juventus as a free agent. Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Juventus, and City are all said to be interested in signing him. The City's claimed interest has been swirling for almost 12 hours, following initial Daily Mail stories.
Speculation about Pogba's future has picked considerable steam in the weeks leading up to the impending transfer window. Whatever team he ends up playing for next season, he appears to be desperate to contend for prizes and be given a constant role in the squad.
During the international break in March, Pogba told the French newspaper Le Figaro: "To be honest, the last five seasons have not satisfied me in the least. We will not win anything this year. I want to win titles with Manchester United or any other team.
"It's simple in France; I play, and I play in my place - I know my role, and I have the coach's and the players' trust. It's natural to notice a difference at Manchester United because it's difficult to be consistent when your position, team structure, or [midfield] partners change frequently.
"I got along well with [France manager Didier Deschamps], he gave me a position that I know - but do I truly have a role at Manchester United? I pose the question but have no answer."
