Arsenal may be on the verge of completing a transaction that will divide the club's fanbase.
According to Graeme Bailey of 90min.com, Newcastle has agreed to a £25 million agreement to capture Arsenal midfielder Joe Willock, breaking their planned transfer budget of £20 million.
90min has an exclusive on this one, implying that the only stumbling block is Willock's decision to make the transfer.
They claim that Arsenal has approved the deal, which would be a hefty outlay for Newcastle, but they regard Willock as a solid long-term investment.
It's never easy to see a Hale End lad depart, especially one who performed admirably in the Premier League last season.

If this agreement goes through, it will undoubtedly divide the fandom. Many fans believe Willock has what it takes to be a success at Arsenal, and although being only 21, his goal-scoring ability makes him a valuable asset to any team.
Others will say that we haven't seen enough of Willock in an Arsenal shirt to believe he can make a significant contribution to this club. Willock has yet to truly establish himself in a position, as he is incapable of playing at the base of a 4-2-3-1 or dominating in the number 10 spot.
Willock thrived as a low-touch midfielder for Newcastle, where he was allowed the opportunity to roam on the right side of a three-man midfield, a system Arsenal rarely uses.
If selling Willock allows us to make moves for other players, I believe it is worthwhile to part ways with him for £25 million. To protect themselves from Willock evolving into a high-value asset, the Gunners could incorporate a buy-back option or a sell-on percentage.
